12/3/51: On voyage Galveston to Calcutta, hit submerged object.
1/21/52: Steamer STEEL EXECUTIVE, striking submerged object on 12/3/51, Galveston for Calcutta: Prop remove and recondition, tailshaft draw and examine, spare propeller fit, together with sundry damages; repairs and drydocking at Baltimore.
1/19/54: Hit submerged object on voyage Basrah to Baltimore; propeller damaged.
4/6/54: From striking submerged object 1/19/54, remove prop, fair blades, examine shaft, rewood stern tube, repairs and drydocking at Baltimore.
5/14/54: Struck pier.
6/7/54: Inbound to New Orleans from Indonesia, aground Farwell Buoy 1.5 miles West of Southwest Pass entrance at 8 PM, 2 tugs assisting.
6/8/54: Off with aid of 2 tugs.
6/9/54: Arrived New Orleans.
7/54: Collided with barges.
7/20/54: From grounding 6/7/54, condensers, coolers and various auxiliary machinery opened, examined and cleaned, together with sundry damages; repairs at New Orleans.
12/20/54: From stranding 6/7/54, recondition propeller, fit spare, renew tailshaft, rewood stern bushing, weld stern frame fractures, repair rudder, renew palm bolts, together with sundry damages and removals; repairs and drydocking at New York.
7/1/55: On voyage Manila for New York while berthing at Singapore in afternoon, collided with starboard quarter MV INVERBANK, Port Elizabeth from Kobe, alongside. STEEL EXECUTIVE damage very slight. INVERBANK has starboard plate set in 8 in, margin plate in gutter badly buckled and 1 frame bent. Agents of both vessels have appointed Surveyors.
2/27/56: From striking pier 5/14/54, One shell plate partially renew, frames straighten and partially renew, together with sundry damages and removals. From collision with barges 7/54, 7 shell plates renew and four fair, frames straighten and partially renew, together with sundry damages and removals. All repairs at Baltimore.
1/22/59: Damage in consequence of STEEL EXECUTIVE striking marker buoy of anchored dredger CAMDEN in Delaware River en route from Baltimore to Philadelphia.
6/3/59: From striking marker buoy of dredger CAMDEN 1/22/59: Propeller recondition, tailshaft draw for examination, spare tailshaft install, stern frame wrapper plate partially renew, starboard bilge keel partially renew, together with sundry damages and removals. Repairs being partially completed this time, remainder deferred.
7/6/59: From Saigon, STEEL EXECUTIVE, Philadelphia for Penang, surveyed in respect of damage sustained through striking quay there. It was found the vessel had sustained damage to plating on starboard side in way of No. 1 hold aft. The seaworthiness of the vessel was not affected. One bollard and railing of the quay were slightly damaged.
10/29 - 10/31/60: Steamer STEEL EXECUTIVE, Philadelphia for Penang, surveyed an Saigon. It was stated that while the vessel was turning in the river here, she struck the bank in way of Nos. 3 and 4 holds. It was not possible to carry out an external examination of the hull, but from the interior examination no damage was found to hill or frames in way of the holds, and there was no leakage. STEEL EXECUTIVE arrived Saigon 10/29/60 and departed 10/31/60.
9/16/62: From Tampa, STEEL EXECUTIVE, Philadelphia for Honolulu, manoeuvering to berth, grounded and refloated; tug CINDY K, assisting, capsized and sunk.
4/30/63: Damaged striking the Bayonne Naval Base, Bayonne, NJ while manoeuvering in loaded condition, assisted by tugs AGNES A. MORAN and SUSAN A. MORAN.
5/9/63: From damage alleged sustained 9/15 and 9/16, 1962, in consequence of grounding in the Alafia River Channel, East Tampa, while en route from Tampa to Mobile: Port side bilge keel partially renew for approximately 150 ft., starboard side bilge keel partially renew for approximately 60 ft., together with sundry damages and removals. Repairs completed at Hoboken, NJ.
12/4/64: Collided with motor vessel TARANTELLA while berthed at the Maher Terminal, Berth No. 16, Port Newark.
9/26/65: Grounding and shearing the North Jetty at Light No. 2, Chesapeake and Delaware Canal, Reedy Point.
12/23/65: From New York: From damage alleged sustained 4/30/63 in consequence of stiking the Bayonne Naval Base while being assisted by tugs: One port side shell plate renew and two partially renew and internals straighten and partially renew, together with sundry damages and removals; repairs deferred. From damage alleged sustained 12/4/64 in consequence of collision with TARANTELLA while berthed: Propeller repair, tailshaft draw for examination, spare tailshaft install, original tailshaft recondition, stern bearings rewood and ropeguard renew, together with sundry damages and removals; repairs completed.
6/7/66: From New York: From damage alleged sustained 4/30/63, in consequence of striking Pier South 8, Building 21, at the Bayonne Naval Base, Bayonne, NJ, while docking assisted by tugs AGNES A. MORAN and SUSAN A. MORAN: Two port side shell plates partially renew and one renew, eight shell frames partially renew, together with sundry damages and removals; repairs completed. From damage alleged sustained 9/26/65, in consequence of grounding and shearing at North Jetty at Light No. 2, C & D Canal, Reedy Point: Seven starboard side shell plates renew and one partially renew, bilge keel partially renew, considerable internals straighten and partially renew, tanks steam, clean and test, propeller blades repair and tailshaft draw for examination, together with sundry damages and removals; repairs completed.
10/27/70: Damage to starboard boiler at 6 AM on passage from Saigon and Canal Zone to New York.
11/5/70: From New York: From Damage alleged sustained to starboard boiler at 6 AM on 10/27/70 while vessel on passage from Saigon and Canal Zone for New York; no allegation has yet been submitted by the owners for the boiler failure: Starboard boiler 53 screen tubes renew, six rear wall tubes renew, approximately 40 side wall roof tubes renew, floor partially renew and tiles on roof renew, together with sundry damages; repairs being carried out.
11/9/70: STEEL EXECUTIVE left New York for Lake Charles.
10/6/72: Unspecified damage discovered at Pusan.
11/2/72: Surveyed in drydock at San Francisco in respect to damage alleged first discovered on 10/6 at Pusan; repairs in progress.
11/15/72: Vessel left San Francisco for Southeast Asia.
